Details, as first posted at TripAdvisor:

Le Piman is a cozy little resort near Rawai Beach (about a twenty minute walk straight downhill). We stayed for eight days in mid-January.

The villas (15 or so) surround the pool, so each villa has a similar view. The rooms were clean and the grounds were immaculate. The flowers and trees were well-tended-to. The pool is also kept very clean, and doesn’t seem to use chlorine (I think it was a salt-water pool of some sort, which is much easier on hair and skin, so I’d consider this to be a bonus). Rooms are cleaned daily.

They take great care here to make sure the resort remains beautiful at all times.

Since it is on Viset Road, it is close to a variety of amenities as well as the beach. This isn’t the kind of beach you would want to swim in, however. You’ll have to travel a little further away for that—Nai Harn is probably the closest. It’s also close to a nice little market.

In our package, breakfast was included every morning, as well as two bottles of water in the room every day when it was cleaned. The breakfast here is great, and if not included in your room rate, it is only 150 baht for a full meal (e.g., vegetarian option: coffee/tea/ovaltine, fruit/orange juice, pancake/toast, and cereal/muesli with milk/yogurt). The food here was excellent in general.

Try the Pad Thai and the orange shake; I recommend them highly. There are plenty of vegetarian options on the menu, as well, and the chef didn’t seem to mind making alterations to dishes when requested.

The hot water and air conditioning all worked properly; we had no problems in this regard. The furniture is a drawback—the couch was older and sinking in the middle, and the beds were very hard, but everything else you need is provided (kettle, microwave, fridge, sink, dishes, dish soap, TV). The television worked great and had a huge selection of channels in many languages.

We were also able to arrange a taxi to pick us up from the airport for about $30 CAD, which made the whole process much less stressful after a very long flight. As our flight was scheduled to come in late at night, we did not arrive until 2am to the hotel, but we emailed them before our trip to let them know we’d have a late check-in and they were very accommodating.

There seem to be only a few staff, but it is the service here, in my opinion, that really separates Le Piman from the rest.

Everyone there was consistently and genuinely friendly. The woman who works the front desk (possibly the resort manager, as she seems to run the place) was sweet enough not only to let us borrow her phone to make a local call, but also to talk to our taxi driver in Thai for us to make sure we got to where we were going.

They really go out of their way to make their clients happy here. As my first experience with a hotel in Thailand, I was very impressed by Le Piman and would definitely visit again.
